My intention as a photographer is not simply to take pretty pictures. The photos have got to yield results in the field. Being a good photographer is not limited to the technical aspects of light and composition, it’s about seeing and intuitively feeling a person for who they truly are.

This is my passion and purpose. Bluestella Photography is not an in-and-out photo studio. It’s a boutique experience that caters to the individual and their specific needs.

Together, we find your image perfection!

Why is it some people get great headshots, and others don’t? Having been there myself, I’ll tell you why.

  1. You don’t know your photographer, and they don’t know you or what you really need.
  2. You and your photographer lack specificity in your intention.
  3. Your wardrobe is not in alignment with your natural color and design palette, your unique “you”, so you look “off”. And/or, it’s not in alignment with your specific career intentions. Bottom-line, it’s not everything you hoped for.
  4. You’re nervous because you’re spending a lot of money and you’ve only got a couple of hours to relax, hurry up, and nail the shot. No pressure!

This is why I decided to remodel my process, so that it absolutely serves and supports my clients’ needs. It’s a boutique experience, tailor-made just for you! Here’s what to expect:

  1. The Initial Meeting – This includes a color & design palette consultation, and what I call a “production design” intention. We discuss:
    a)  What colors, textures, patterns, sheens work best for your unique palette.
    b)  What roles you’re going out for, and your career goals, i.e. how you see yourself working in the business.
    c)  What wardrobe pieces you may or may not have, and/or need to get, thus solidifying your “looks” for the shoot. We set an intention and make a plan.
  2. The Wardrobe Review – You model your wardrobe selections, we mix and match, discuss, and evaluate. If we agree, we proceed to the next phase. If not, you’re back off shopping/borrowing.
  3. The Shoot – Your bring your own make-up and hair stylist, or I can provide one at an additional cost. We already know your wardrobe choices, so the shoot is all about relaxing, having fun, and nailing those specific looks you’re after. There is no time limit. We shoot until we get what we need. Average shoot times are about three hours, depending on how many “looks” you need.

Since I have adopted this three-step approach for maximizing results, every client has wrapped their shoot feeling confident and happy. Clients routinely tell me they feel empowered by the experience, and that they loved our process. Plus, agents and managers like the results, so I know it works!
